Joy Bhattacharjya has left an indelible mark on the sports industry, wearing multiple hats as a quizzer, orator, writer, and sports producer. His journey took off in the early 2000s when he became the first Indian Head of Production for ESPN Star Sports, setting new standards in sports broadcasting.
In 2006, he expanded his horizons by leading Programming for both the National Geographic Channel and The History Channel in India, proving his versatility in content creation. But his true passion remained in sports. In 2008, as Team Director of Kolkata Knight Riders, he helped shape the franchise into one of the most recognizable brands in Indian cricket.
His influence extended beyond cricket when he served as the Project Director for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, a record-breaking event that drew 1.3 million spectators across six cities. He further championed emerging sports as the CEO of the inaugural Pro Volleyball League.
A visionary in sports engagement, Joy also pioneered India’s first fantasy sports game, Super Selector, for ESPN Star Sports revolutionizing how fans interact with the game.
